Your safety

How we keep this safe

An anonymous room only works if people trust the door. Here is exactly what protects you, in plain terms.

  1. Verified students only

Every account is tied to a working email address at one of 42 Australian universities. There is no other way in, which means nobody in a room with you is here from outside a campus.

  2. Anonymous until you both agree

Your identity is hidden by default and your handle changes with every room. Nobody can be unmasked without their own consent — there is no mechanism for it.

  3. Report and remove

If someone makes you uncomfortable, report them or leave the room. Reports are reviewed within twenty-four hours. Room creators can remove anyone from a room they opened.

  4. Conversations expire

Messages are deleted twenty-four hours after a chat ends. We do not keep permanent transcripts, build behavioural profiles, or sell anything to advertisers.

  5. Your session stays server-side

Login tokens are held in an encrypted, HttpOnly cookie and are never readable by code running in your browser. Everything travels over TLS.

  6. Rules everyone signed up to

Harassment, hate speech, spam and explicit content are all out. Breaking the house rules gets you suspended, and the serious ones get you banned.
